All in one – and one for all

by Fashion Editor Clare Meaney

Call them what you may – a one-piece ski suit, a onesie, an all-in-one, a powder suit or quite simply a ski suit.

They were all the rage in the 1980’s, but lost their appeal for a while as skiers and snowboarders started to favour the separate ski jackets and trousers or sallopettes.

But the one piece ski suit never quite went away and every year a few more ‘retro’ designs appear. And this season there seems to many more.

This time they are fashion at it’s finest. Whether you are stretchy figure-hugging type of girl or a grungy/baggy type of guy there really is something for everyone and here are some examples (click on the images for more info).

From its home in Norway, Helly Hansen, has been making gear that’s been tried and tested for more than 140 years. With 55,000 skiing professionals worldwide choosing the brand for safety, performance and protection, it is a firm favourite.

Winternational is a UK designer brand which offers designer ski wear for woman. Their ski suits are quite simply spectacular.

In 2014 the founders of Oneskee decided that fashion on the mountains needed freshening up. Five years on and they have sold to 50 countries worldwide!

For those of you who really want to wear the original all in ones, look no further than the Asos Marketplace. With purple colours, stylish patterns and padded shoulders, you are really buying into the ‘retro’ look.
