Ski lifts in the Tirol are being shut down this week in an effort to halt the spread of Coronavirus

The Tyrol Tourist Board has issued a statement about resorts in the area. It says: With the announcement of the state of Tyrol on March 12, 2020, additional precautionary measures to contain and combat the spread of the coronavirus have been implemented for all of Tyrol.

All cable cars throughout the country will have their last day of operation on Sunday March 15, 2020. Accommodation facilities (hotels, holiday apartments, B&Bs, etc.) will be closed on Monday, March 16, 2020.

These comprehensive measures are carried out in close coordination between the authorities and Tyrolean tourism partners. The health and safety of the Tyrolean population, the employees of the country’s tourist businesses and guests from all over the world has top priority.
