Gillings-Brier Secures Top 10 at World Championships in Spain following birth of baby Léa and loss of funding.
Zoe Gillings-Brier recorded her best result of the season at the World Championships in March with a top 10 finish at the Sierra Nevada World Championships snowboard cross competition in Spain.
Zoe qualified in an impressive 11th place on Saturday and progressed straight through into the finals without having to do a second qualification run.
Zoe competed in the finals yesterday where she progressed through her first heat convincingly but didn’t make it through her second heat. In the small final Zoe placed 3rd place giving her an overall finish position of 9th. -
Top ten finishes for speed skier Jan Farrell in Sun Peaks, Canada
British team speed skier Jan Farrell secures two top ten finishes during the World Cup event in Sun Peaks, Canada, as he prepares for the World Championships in Sweden later this month.
Despite challenging conditions across two days of racing, Farrell managed to complete the course on both occasions with a tenth place (March 6) and a ninth place (March 7).

In his third season in the unlimited S1 category, Jan Farrell will be chasing a podium on the Speed Skiing World Cup circuit after establishing himself as one of the fastest racers on the planet.
The Lancaster born skier has now fully recovered from his crash at 216.58kph that happened during the 2016 World Cup event in Vars, France. Now, Jan aims to better his record 5th place in Sun Peaks, a particularly technical track that tends to benefit him.

Ryding finishes 11th in Alpine World Championships Finale

The Delancey British Alpine Ski Team put in a strong performance at the Alpine World Ski Championships in St Moritz, with Dave Ryding showing that he is one of the world’s best Slalom skiers. After a storming first run, Ryding was lying in 4th place but couldn’t quite hold onto his position, eventually finishing in 11th place, with the World Champions title going to the ever-impressive Marcel Hirscher.

The Delancey British Alpine Ski Team are in St Moritz for the second week of the Alpine World Ski Championships.
Yesterday saw Alex Tilley finish in 30th position after putting down two solid runs in the World Championship GS. Cara Brown, who has only recently come back from a knee injury, qualified for the main race, but yesterday just missed out on the second run finishing in 65th place. Tilley will now race in the Ladies Slalom on Saturday.

English Alpine Champs 2017 Day 5
Day five of the English Alpine Ski Championships 2017 saw the action continue on the sunny slopes of Bormio with a NJR Giant Slalom and an Under 16/14 Super G.
In the FIS Giant Slalom on the Stella Alpina piste, conditions were perfect for two GS runs for the Under 21 and Under 18 racers.

English Alpine Champs 2017 Day 3
Day three of the English Alpine Ski Championships saw the U16 and U14 racers tackle the Giant Slalom on the Stella Alpina race piste, with the older athletes taking on the FIS Super G on the Stelvio piste. The day was rounded off by an exciting Night Parallel Slalom, where Glasgow Ski Racing came out as champions ahead of Ambition Racing A under the floodlights.

Action kicks off at English Alpine Championships 2017 in Bormio

English Alpine Champs 2017 Day 1
The English Alpine Ski Championships kicked off in style under sunny skies in Bormio today, with some impressive skiing in the FIS National Junior Slalom and Under 12 & Under 10 Giant Slalom.
Around 400 athletes, coaches, parents and supporters descended on Bormio yesterday for the opening parade, which – to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Championships in Bormio – ended in an impressive torchlight descent by local ski instructors.

After a ground-breaking season where he claimed his inaugural World Cup podium, Dave Ryding will compete in the Men’s Slalom event at the very end of the Championships, on Sunday, 19 February.

Dave Ryding
Delancey British Alpine Team skier Dave Ryding claimed a historic second place at the World Cup Slalom in Kitzbuehel, as he matched Great Britain’s best ever Alpine World Cup result.
This was Ryding’s sixth top 15 finish of the season and Britain’s best result in an Alpine World Cup for 35 years, matching Konrad Bartelski’s second place in a Downhill World Cup in 1981.
