Winter getaways for all generations

Bear Lodge

In the ever-growing trend of multi-generational travel, VIP SKI has noted a surge in bookings for extended family ski holidays. VIP SKI provides an exceptional experience that caters to families of all sizes. Children aged between two and 12 represented 17% of VIP SKI’s guests last winter, and 120 babies experienced the mountains for the first time. One of the key highlights is the flexibility in childcare options, ensuring that parents can enjoy their time on the slopes worry-free.

Unlike traditional hotels, VIP SKI holidays offer children unrestricted access to communal areas and facilities, fostering a sense of togetherness for the entire family. To enhance the family-friendly atmosphere, VIP SKI welcomes children of all ages in their chalets when booked exclusively. Additionally, chalet hotels, such as Bear Lodge in Arc 1950, accommodate families with children on a room-by-room basis. For added convenience, children are accepted in all chalets during school holidays, providing flexibility for travel planning.

The comprehensive approach extends to child discounts and family rooms with bunks where the child stays half price, offering financial benefits for families. With personalised recommendations based on the party’s composition, including ages and the number of children, VIP SKI ensures a seamless and enjoyable luxury ski chalet experience for every family.

Childcare and nanny services are available to ensure that both parents and grandparents can enjoy their own adventures and relaxation time. VIP SKI’s Alpine Account Managers assist in planning and coordinating the trip, offering tailor-made accommodation suggestions and pre-booking services for nannies, lift passes, ski hire, and lessons.

Choosing the right destination for diverse age groups is very important when booking a multi-generational getaway. Val d’Isere has consistently been selected as a top destination for multi-generational ski trips, but with the addition of Bear Lodge to the VIP SKI portfolio, 25% of families headed to Les Arcs last season, with Bear Lodge proving to be a big hit with multiple generations.

Les Arcs’ vibrant nightlife and après-ski scene cater to all tastes, making it an all-encompassing destination for a multi-generational family ski trip. VIP SKI recommends traveling during festive seasons or in March and April for a warmer experience.

The convenient 90-minute transfer from Geneva airport to Morzine makes it an ideal destination, especially for families with young children. Whichever resort you choose, private transfers can be arranged upon request, and the flexibility of four transfers a day on Sundays accommodates varying arrival schedules.

Bear Lodge, located next to the piste in Arc 1950, has 30 bedrooms and can sleep up to 80 guests. Offering three different types of room to suit all needs, guests can make use of the ski-in, ski-out accommodation, and complimentary ski guiding to make the most of their stay. Returning from a day of exploring, guests can choose between relaxing in the spa, taking in the mountain views from the pool, or enjoying a film in the cinema room.

In the evening, chill in the stylish lounge and bar area or dine at the Lodge restaurant. A seven-night stay, from 10 March 2024, costs from £1,528pp (based on two people sharing a room). Price includes a scheduled transfer to and from Geneva Airport and catered accommodation. Gatwick flights are available at a supplement.
