The Ski Podcast has confirmed it will continue its sponsorship of British alpine ski racers Zak, Freddy and Luca Carrick-Smith for the 2026/27 winter season, extending its support for the three brothers into a third consecutive year.
The brothers, who grew up in the French Alps but represent Great Britain, are among the emerging talents in British alpine skiing.
The sponsorship will provide a contribution towards the costs of their racing programmes, as they continue to compete at the highest levels of the sport.
The announcement comes after an impressive southern hemisphere winter in New Zealand, where the Carrick-Smith brothers made history by becoming the first set of brothers to take all three podium places in a FIS-approved race, finishing first, second and third in the slalom at the New Zealand National Championships. Freddy Carrick-Smith made further history at the opening men’s giant slalom of the 2026/27 FIS Alpine Ski World Cup season, held in Sölden, Austria, where he finished 12th.
Exciting times for ski racing brothers
All three brothers competed in World Cup events last winter, with further opportunities expected during the coming season.
Iain Martin, founder and host of The Ski Podcast, said: “The performances of British alpine ski racers have been outstanding in recent years, particularly considering the limited funding available to athletes. The Carrick-Smith brothers represent the future of British skiing and, although our contribution is small compared with the costs of competing on the international circuit, I’m assured it will be useful.”
The brothers will also continue contributing regular reports to The Ski Podcast throughout the winter, giving listeners an insight into life on the international racing circuit. Luca Carrick-Smith said: “I’m looking forward to keeping working with The Ski Podcast again for the next season.”
Freddy added: “Thank you Iain for the sponsorship, and I’m looking forward to doing some more podcast reports for The Ski Podcast.”
Zak said: “Thank you very much Iain. We’re super excited for the season!”
Alongside its support for the Carrick-Smith brothers, The Ski Podcast is contributing to Alpine 100, a lottery-based fundraising initiative designed to help the next generation of aspiring British alpine ski racers.
The continued sponsorship reflects The Ski Podcast’s commitment to supporting British snowsports and helping audiences follow the athletes working to establish themselves on the international stage.
