Having spent a morning enjoying my first ever ski lesson at The Snow Centre, the real snow ski and snowboard facility in Hemel Hempstead, Louise Newton from Iglu Ski had also organised for me to meet up with Peter Thorpe, an adaptive ski instructor at Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK), to find out about their work and what they do at the centre.

Skier sets new world record with 101 ski lift rides in a day
Oliver Kern from Skiresort.info has set a new world record for the number of different ski lifts rides taken in one day. The previous record of 80 ski lifts was beaten on 11 February 2025 in the Sälen ski region in Sweden. In the ski areas of Stöten, Hundfjället (SkiStar), Tandådalen (SkiStar), Högfjället (SkiStar), Lindvallen (SkiStar) and Kläppen, 101 different ski lifts were used in just under 11 hours. -

An Easter ski holiday is a wonderful way to enjoy the mountains, with warm, sunny weather making the skiing irresistible and the lunch times long and lazy. Easter in 2025 falls on 20 April, meaning the likelihood of ideal weather is even higher.
