With Alex Tilley’s name on the start list, the other women in the Ladies FIS Giant Slalom knew they would have to bring their best skiing to Bormio today. Although Honor Clissold and Olivia Foster both skied fast first runs, it wasn’t quite enough to challenge Tilley as she clocked up an overall winning time of 1.46.93. In the Senior category, Tilley (EVO) was followed by Honor Clissold (EVO) who clocked a combined time of 1.49.14 and was the Senior English FIS GS Champion. Third was Nicole Ritchie (AMB) in a time of 1.53.29. In the Under 21 category, third fastest Brit overall Olivia Foster (AMB) was again looking impressive after her NJR GS win yesterday. She finished in an overall time of 1.49.45 to take the English Champion title. In second place was Lois Jackson (EVO) in a time of 1.52.62 and third went to Katie Stuart (AMB) in 1.59.56, a carbon copy of yesterday’s NJR GS podium. For the Under 18s, Alexa Elliff (CDC) was again the stand out female athlete in this age group, claiming the Under 18 English Champion title in a time of 1.53.63. Behind her again was Giselle Gorringe (DRA) in a time of 1.58.51 and Charlotte Warne (EXL), who finished in a combined time of 2.01.27.

For the men, it was Leonidas Karavasili (EVO) who was the speediest Brit, taking his second Under 21 English Champion title in as many days after finishing in a combined time of 1.47.37. Behind Karavasili was Owen Vinter (AMB) who was standing on his first podium of the week as he took second place for the Under 21s. Third place in the same category went to Angus Wills (EVO) in a time of 1.50.50. In the Under 18 category, Robert Holmes (EVO) again looked impressive, taking the Under 18 English Champion title in a time of 1.50.81. Second place in the Under 18 category went to Kaylan Huisman Muro (AMB) who finished in a combined time of 1.53.56. Third was Max Pini (AMB) who clocked an overall time of 1.54.27. In the Senior category Robert Vanbeck was crowned English Champion after finishing in 2.14.93.

The Under 16 athletes luckily had enough clear weather before the snow came in to race two Super Gs on the Stelvio piste. For the girls, it was Charlotte Holmes (EVO) who was on top form today, claiming two wins, clocking close to the same time in both races. In the first Super G it was Honor Bartlett (AMB) who took second spot, finishing in a time of 1.03.05 compared to Holmes’ 1.02.27. She was followed by Erin Ward (GSR) who took third place in a time of 1.03.55. Madison Spence (BSA) was fourth and Candice Bomberg (APX) was fifth. In the second of the two girls’ U16 Super Gs, Honor Bartlett again couldn’t quite beat Holmes’ time, taking silver for the second time in 1.03.59. Holmes claimed the win in a time of 1.02.56. Erin Ward got nudged down into fourth this time, as Sophie Gibson (AMB) claimed third place on the podium in a time of 1.03.65. Fifth place again went to Candice Bomberg.

For the Under 16 boys, Max Laughland (BSA) and Gregor Munro (AMB) were playing cat and mouse for the top spot of the podium in two very tight races. In the first race it was Laughland who took the victory in a time of 58.21, closely followed by Munro who finished in 58.21. Just fractions of a second behind both of them was Luca Carrick-Smith (BSA) who clocked a time of 58.75. Fourth place went to Aidan Urquhart (Kandahar) and Kieran Woolley (EVO) finished fifth. In the second race there was a reversal in the two top spots, with Munro claiming the win in a time of 58.50 compared to Laughland’s 59.03 which meant he had to settle for second position. Luca Carrick-Smith unfortunately had a DNF, opening the way for Kieran Woolley to take third in a time of 59.65. Lucas Ellis (APX) took fourth place with Aidan Urquhart this time taking fifth.
