Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards gets plastered

The 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics star Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards is getting plastered – all in the name of art.

The former ski jumper and skier is one of three British athletes connected with snowsports who are collaborating with world-leading body-cast sculptor Louise Giblin.

The sculpture of Eddie, a former Skier & Snowboarder columnist, will be completed next year in time for the film premier about his life story, which stars Hugh Jackman as his coach.

Louise Giblin works on the Heather Mills clay model.

Louise, who is a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors, also cast disabled skier Heather Mills, for her Living Legends series. Heather’s sculpture, a white limited edition torso, displays the athlete skiing.

Heather is a five times World Record holder (including Fastest Disabled Woman Skier – 103.6 mp/h).

In January 2015 Louise cast Paralympic skier John Kirk MBE. John who is in the RAF, lost his arm and shoulder prior to taking up the challenge of skiing.

The Heather Mills sculpture, alongside those of other sporting heroes, Duncan Goodhew MBE, Lord Colin Moynihan, Dame Kelly Holmes, Kriss Akabusi MBE have already been on display at theUrbane Art Gallery, Edinburgh and can now be seen at the Saffron Art Gallery Battle from 7-19 November 2015.

She also undertakes private commissions and you can find more info at:
